Imadegawa Nobusue (今出川誠季)
Nobusue IMADEGAWA (November 4, 1713 - July 30, 1746) was Kugyo (a Court noble) in the middle of the Edo period. He served two Emperors, the Emperor Nakamikado (the 114th) and the Emperor Sakuramachi (the 115th) and rose to the official rank of Junii (Junior Second Rank), Gon Dainagon (a provisional chief councilor of state). His father was Naidaijin (the minister of the interior), Munesue SAIONJI. His foster father was Gon Dainagon, Kinakira IMADEGAWA. His wife was a daughter of Kinakira (Nobusue married into the Kinakira's family). Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state), Kinkoto IMADEGAWA was his son and Sadako (a wife of the lord of the Saijo Domain and the Kishu Domain) was his daughter.
He married into the IMAGAWA family from the SAIJO family. In 1723, the peerage was conferred on him. Since then, he got promoted quickly as the head of the Seiga family taking various positions such as Jiju (Imperial Household Agency staff), Sakonoe no shosho (Minor Captain of the Left Division of the Inner Palace Guards), and Sakonoe no chujo (Middle Captain of the Left Division of the Inner Palace Guards) and then, in 1735, he rose to the official rank of Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) to rank with Kugyo. After that, in 1739, he assumed Gon Dainagon (a provisional chief councilor of state) after taking Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state). He was in that position until he fell sick in 1746. He died in 1746. He died at the age of 39.
